THE CORPUS CHRISTI MOVEMENT
I thirst - I satiate
Everywhere we go, we find people
with this same tremendous hunger for God,
a hunger only you priests
can satisfy by giving them Jesus.
They expect the tenderness
and love of Jesus to come into their lives through you.
They need you to touch them with the fragrance and compassion
of his love.
Mary, Mother of Jesus, and my Mother,
you were the first one to hear Jesus cry, "I Thirst"!
You know, how real, how deep is His longing for me and for the poor.
I am yours...
ST. M. Teresa MC
THE CORPUS CHRISTI MOVEMENT is an International Movement for diocesan priests founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta with the blessing of the Holy Father John Paul II.
The Association seeks to foster priestly holiness and the spiritual renewal of the Church.
Brother priests are invited to share in the charism and spirit given by God to the universal Church through Mother Teresa of Calcutta and the Missionaries of Charity, while remaining in the context of one's own priestly ministry and vocation.
"Jesus loves His priests very much and wants them to grow in holiness by living the priesthood to the full – this simple way ¨ will help very much. Let us pray and ask Our Lady to take care as She did of Jesus.
God bless you
M. Teresa, MC"
This 'Simple Way' is especially fostered by...
* the daily celebration of the Eucharist and prayer in Eucharistic Adoration
* a special closeness to Our Lady, Mother of the Church and Mother of priests
* supporting each other as brother priests,
one-to-one or in small group meetings for PRAYER and FRATERNITY,
retreats or seminars.
SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
Members maybe SPIRITUALLY ADOPTED by religious sisters, in the same way as priests were adopted by St. Therese of Lisieux. Priests who are not members may also be adopted.
MEMBERSHIP and ORGANIZATION
The Movement is a private association of diocesan priests approved by the Congregation of the Clergy. It is directed by its international coordinator, Fr. Pascual Cervera, assisted by the members of the council , and regional coordinators.
