BOWING THE LOW

TANTUM ERGO

Bowing low then, offer homage.

To a Sacrament so great!
Here is a new and perfect worship.

All the old must terminate.

Senses cannot grasp the marvel.

Faith must serve to compensate.
Praise and glorify the Father.

Bless His Son's life-giving name.

Singing their eternal Godhead.

Power, majesty and fame.
Offering Their Holy Spirit.

Equal worship and acclaim.
Amen.

Tantum ergo Sacraméntum.

Venerémur cérnui;
Et antíquum documéntum.

Novo cedat rítui;
Praestet fides supplemémentum.

Sénsuum deféctui.

Genitóri, Genitóoque, Laus et jubilátio;
Salus, honor, virtus quoque.

Sit et benedíctio;
Procédenti ab utróque.

Compar sit láudatio.
Amen.

V.: You have given us bread from Heaven.
R.: Containing in itself all sweetness.

Let us pray:
O God, Who in this wonderful sacrament,
has left us a memorial of Your suffering and death,
grant us, we beseech You,
that we may so venerate the Sacred Mysteries of Your Body and Blood,
that we may perceive within us the fruit of Your redemption,
You who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.

V.: Panem de caelo praestitìsti eis.
R.: Omne delectaméntum in se habéntem.

Amen.
