International Pilgrimage and Retreat for Priests

Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

January 2–10, 2006, in Mexico City

Our Lady at the Foot of the Cross

This year’s annual CCM retreat, held at the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, will have as its theme Mary at the Foot of the Cross. Our days of prayer together will be centered on the Eucharist, while Fr. Joseph, MC, and other priests will guide us with their conferences and with selected writings of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, all based on the retreat’s theme.

We have invited his Eminence Cardinal Norberto Rivera of Mexico to preside over one of our Masses. Archbishop Emilio Berlie of Merida, Yucatan, who knew Blessed Teresa in person, will give us a conference. Monsignor Diego Monroy, Rector of the Shrine at Guadalupe, will speak of the mystery of the apparitions of Our Lady at the site, and of the precious image she left of herself.

We will stay in the priests’ residence very close to the Shrine. The MC Fathers, who have a house in Guadalupe, are also extending their hospitality to the participating priests. We are trying to keep the costs as low as possible. We pray that Our Lady will bring many priests to her Shrine.

Like the retreats we have had in previous years, the meeting of priests from different countries will offer a great opportunity to enrich ourselves with priestly fraternity.

Since there is not much time left, it is important that we know if you plan to participate to help organize accommodation and other activities.
